Monday Updates: Virtual Learning & More

Dear SKY Family,

Today we had a great staff meeting and discussed the plans for how to best serve our students and families during this building closure.  Teachers will be using Google Classroom as the platform to assign student work.  Please have your child show you their Google Classroom platform.  It would also be helpful to write down their login and password, this way you can see what they are going and receive notifications from teachers about class activities.  Google Classroom will be the primary form of communication between teachers and students.  Some teachers have already begun posting assignments, but all teachers will have assignments posted on Wednesday.  Work will be assigned on Monday and will be due the following Monday.  This way its flexible and families can work around their schedules.

We have had five Chromebook distribution sessions at SKY.  If you still need a Chromebook, internet access, or live in an area with no access to internet at all, please contact our technology coordinator Natalia Shea ([email protected]). 

This is going to be an interesting time, full of transitions and learning new skills.  Our goal is to work with each student and family and to make this process as simple as possible.  We want all students to be successful, and I am confident that with us all working together, the students will continue to learn and grow academically.
