Karen and her husband are now a full time residents of the City of Venice after spending twenty-six years in Georgia. Karen has had the opportunity to study and teach in many different areas of education. She has also been an educator in many different arreas of the world with more than thirty years experience as an educator.
In her teaching practice she served as a teacher of the hearing impaired, learning disabled, emotional/behavioral disordered, and other area of special needs. She served also as an educator for grades first, third, fourth, and fifth grades stateside in Virginia and Georgia as well as oversees in Japan and Panama.
Karen is enjoying her retirement and is not quite finished with "giving back." She volunteers for multiple programs throughout Sarasota County. At her leisure she enjoys reading, traveling, tutoring, volunteering, and frequenting the beach almost daily. She is very happy to have found a small piece of paradise here in Florida.

Leonard Hughes is a proud father of a 14 year old son Luke. He owns a sales company that looks for products to provide solutions for his customers from real estate, insurance, home and medical clean air devices. Leonard enjoys fishing, boating, travel and volunteering to give back to his community when he can.

Shelley has over twenty-five years of business and educational experience, playing roles in human resource management, compliance administration, marketing, branding, and corporate training. In addition, Shelley has also taught in the high school setting, was a special education department chair and taught at the collegiate level too.
She currently owns her own online event planning business and focuses her energy and passion on bringing the government contracting community together on various topics to educate and help bridge the gap of the absence of in-person events with government officials. Shelley has always enjoyed assisting others, especially small businesses, and connecting the dots by way of holding social events around the MD, DC and VA area for the last 15 years. She takes great pride in knowing her social connections, while far and wide, are only six degrees or less of separation from each other.
In her spare time, she leverages her Florida real estate license to help her followers who mainly reside in MD, VA and DC connect with the Florida real-estate market. Shelley has been a real estate investor for 20 years owning various types of properties and she has always wanted to be a realtor since buying her first investment property in 2003.
Shelley holds a Master of Arts degree In Teaching and Administration from College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Baltimore. Outside of the office she enjoys traveling with her family, a night of dancing with girlfriends, dinners with her parents who live near her, and spending time with her daughter and husband.

Dr. Angela Steranko is a licensed clinical psychologist as well as owner and founder of Fundamental Psychology, PLLC. Dr. Steranko was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. She attended undergraduate and graduate school in Florida then moved out of state to continue to pursue her education and obtain her doctorate. Dr. Steranko moved back to the Venice area to open her practice and raise her family.
Dr. Steranko specializes in working with children, teens and young adults. Her group practice is family focused and emphasizes the importance of physical movement, nutrition and positive social interactions on an individuals mental health. The values of Sky Academy closely align with Dr. Steranko’s approach to overall wellbeing. She has been a member of the Sky Board since February 2018.

Stacey Schwartz-Wieczorek and her two children reside in Venice, FL. Her daughter attends
Northeastern University in Boston and her son attends Sky Academy. Stacey has been a Realtor for over 17 years. She is a military widow since 2012. Since then, she has developed a true passion for helping others in her local community by volunteering for several organizations and schools. She also serves the military survivor community as a peer mentor to fellow widows.
